Douglas Brown's Travels
291km ride Today's ride had a lot more twisters and was very steep and narrow. Another smile inducing day of riding. This is the sort of riding I had only dreamt about. we travelled via Stolac, Trebinje, Klobuk, Niksic, Pluzine and Trsa. Our group of 4 Canadians, 4 Americans , 1 Aussie and 1 kiwi are really getting along well together. The weather was not good today so we did limited stops and enjoyed the superb riding in the rain. A new element to our ongoing skills test. Our border crossing into Montenagro was easy except that one of our party who has two passports showed a different one to which they had entered the country. This immediately flagged them on the computer as an illegal alien which slowed us down slightly. Zabljak is 1450 metres above sea level and is the highest town in the Balkins. This explains the endless switch backs that we traversed to reach this town. Each days riding gets better than the last. The town is a winter ski village and our nights stay was in the Hotel Ski. Due to the rain and the lack of stops, no photos were taken on this leg. However, other members of the group did so I may update this entry at a later date with their photos.
