London, she was incredible!
So much history, so many stories to tell.. All in all Britain you are one Patriotic country and it's quite refreshing to find! Names I'd never heard of will be names I'll remember forever. I had never been a fan of history at school, always found it really boring.. Perhaps if you could physically see the history instead of reading about in a text book, well perhaps I'd be a different girl..... ;) Everywhere you turn there was something to learn & something to do. St Paul's Cathedral was beautiful, I could of stayed there all day taking photos but none of them do it justice. We did a lot of the tourist sites in the first few days just to say we'd done them; Madame Tussards, London Eye, St Paul's, Lyceum Theatre - Lion King, various 'English Pubs', Borough Markets and the Grand London bike tour took us to Westminster Abbey, Parliament House, Big Ben, Tower of London, River Thames and to some more unknown places and the list goes on.. (For anyone heading to London Chris at Breakaway Bike tours was amazing really cool tour something different than your usual walking tour and a good way to fit in some exercise! - just incase ALL the steps in London weren't enough for you) We spent a lot of time on the tube to get from place to place and riding around the city make you realize how close all the stops really are, of course knowing your way around helps!
Friday was Kael's birthday so some much loved friends met up with us for a few days of drinking, sightseeing & fun! I had tried to keep it a surprise but it was almost impossible. I'm sure he was still a little surprised to see Abi, Mark, Hannah, Penny, Danny & Nat @ the London Eye casually on a Friday afternoon ;) btw London Eye is more impressive to look at than go on... What a waste of £18. Dinner and drinks that followed were to be remembered but somehow I've forgotten them? I blame Hannah for the tequila shots!! I also ended up with a lovely egg on my head and a giant bruise on my elbow that is every color of the rainbow (5 days later I still can't lean on my elbow!) apparently I'm quite good at tripping over my own feet..... :/ the next morning I don't know what feels worse; the bruise on my elbow, the egg on my head, my headache or the fact that I also now have the flu and can't breath through my nose.... Yep feeling good on a Saturday morning & somehow I thought it was the birthday boy who should of felt the worst but no I seem to have taken one for the team!
Kael & Hannah head to the cricket on Sunday to watch England & South Africa which gives me a day to be sick in bed and plan the next segment of our journey, where will we end up next.....?
