Hello there,
So sorry it's been a couple days since I've written. We've been busy driving across the country, and internet connections where we've been staying has been intermittent.
Since we left Cork, we took about a 6 hour road trip heading off to Kerry, Ireland. Along the way, we saw lots of sheep, cows and an old Abby from the 13th century. We stopped and took pictures, and I looked for ghosts, but to no avail. But that's not to say the place didn't feel a little creepy. The oldest tomb there was from 1791, which was great because even the language written on the tomb was old English-"Here lieth the bod of..."
We drove for several hours to our bed and breakfast which was in the county of Killarney. It was a beautiful drive, through the rolling green hills, past a coastline, up some decent sized mountains, and through a national forest. I absolutely love the town of Killaney. It's a little touristy, but still has a small town feel to it. We checked out the Ross Castle, and had a nice tour by a friendly old Irish man. We took a hike in part of the national forest, relaxed and decided to head home for some dinner and drinks.
The pubs here are exactly how you would expect them to be. One we went to was established in 1891 and had a lot of character to it. The other we visited last night, had live music. This consisted an adorable older couple who were playing the banjo and accordion singing their hearts out to older folk music. James bought them a round of drinks (which consisted of a Red Bull at 10pm) and we were in good with the locals. At about 10:30pm the party arrived. And when I say party, I mean 6 or 7 older gentlemen possibly in their fifties and sixties, came roaring in the door and starting bellowing the lyrics to the folk song and had a great time in this tiny, loud, crowded and lively pub. Never in my life have I witnessed such a fun time.
Today we have another couple hours of driving ahead of us. We're heading out to Galway, where we intend to see the Cliffs of Mohr. After that, we'll drive a little bit more to a smaller town halfway to Dublin to rest up. Tomorrow we'll fly out of Dublin and head off to the Netherlands to try and learn Dutch, and take a train to Paris to check out the countryside. Mind you, this is all very expensive and quite exhausting, but every second is worth it.
Cheers!

Bill Sounds like you are having a great time and it has now become a vacation. Brooke I found the missing pajama bottoms. They were in the box. I don't understand it but such is life. Slinky figured out how to escape but she was caught and sentenced to to a week of hard labor and treats.
Teagan Volesky Sounds like wonderful fun. I'm glad that you both made friends at the pub. Be sure to rest and enjoy everything.
Sarah Volesky Your photo's are wonderful. I feel like I'm right there with you. Teagan gets all excited when I show her the photo's. Make sure that when you get to the Netherlands that James wears a pair of wooden clogs. Have Fun!!!
