With sadness I left Sydney saying goodbye to my wonderful friends Sly & Trinks. They did a wonderful job of looking after me during the time I was there and I am going to miss them. For those of you keen to see what the Hamiltons are up to go here - http://www.xpd.com.au/
I flew about 20 hours to Beunos Aires with a short stop in Santiago - Chile. Was awesome to see the Andes from 30 000ft. What an impressive mountain range. BA was very hot and I took a taxi to my hostel. (Hostel Suites Obelisco). I managed to arrange a 4 day Spanish course in the hostel. So each day between 11am & 2 pm I had Spanish lessons. I then had a chance to go practice it. I have to say its not easy for me. I can just manage to order something but then when I get spoken back to its just too much information. Oh well, hopefully it will get easier the more I travel here. Unlike Michelle & Jez I cannot right a whole journal entry in Spanish.
I managed to go see a Tango show which was pretty good. Did not realise that the Tango was so sensual. I can see why every guy wants to learn it. Everybody goes wild for the red meat here, but to be honest SA has much better meat. I guess the price makes it attractive. About 1 pound for a decent size steak. I also did a city bike tour and had a lovely informative guide. She told me a lot of the history of Argentina and I had a great 4 hours out. I decided to travel down to Bariloche which is in Patagonia. I arranged a bus ticket & only found out afterwards that the journey would be 20 hours. Well the buses are really luxurious. The seats are huge like business class on a plane. They almost recline completely flat. So the journey was not too bad. Luckily nothing was stolen during the trip.
