Brenna invited us to stay at her family's cabin up in the Bighorns for a night which we thought would be awesome, and I can start this whole thing off by letting you know that it definately was. The people who were included in this little excursion included, Kara, Brenna, the two aussie Sarah, and Emma, Adam, and myself. By the time we got there it was late in the afternoon, but still enough time to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. Adam and I had brought all the goodies for dinner, as we had plans to cook up some kebabs. We made both steak and shrimp kebabs along with a variety of other ingredients, such as pineapple, muchroom, onion, squash, tomato, and ornage peppers. It took us a while to prepare them all, but it was all good. Adam took control of the marinade and the grill, while I slaved away arranging all the incredible ingredients on the skewers. Needless to say, everybody loved them.
After that we chilled out on the deck overlooking a beautiful landscape which you can see in the pictures. We even had a little jamming session on the guitar and djembi (drum). Brenna and Kara even got into the drumming. It was great. Later that night we played some card game which was pretty entertaining. As the night went on we managed to freak the girls out a little with various ghost stories, and "what if" situations that got their minds going. Being out in the mountains away from anywhere also really helps intensify the scary factor.
The next day we woke up and slowly got into the day. We spent ages busy brainstorming ideas for a Heinz Ketchup commercial competition which paid $57,000. We came up with some real good ones too. If only we had some Heinz, and a few other props out there, we would have been able to make some cinema history. I think it was once the girls started dropping off to sleep that Adam and I decided to go fishing. First of a we had to catch some grasshoppers for bait which took a little while. The poles we used for fishing were this real long pieces of bamboo with a bit of line attached with a hook on the end. The idea is to not be seen by the fish, so using a long pole helps. So we had out grasshoppers and hiked a litte ways down until we found the stream.
It was starting to get a little overcast with some thunder by the time we had had a few casts, so we slowly started making our way back. Also, the fish weren't biting at all. Or maybe we just didnt know how to fish for em. So by the time we had gotten a little ways back we ran into the girls, and it was just then that the rain really started coming down, and then it turned into rainey hail. Cold rainey hail. Then for some reason we hung out up there for a little while before coming back down to the cabin. It was great though. Then we had some lunch, packed up, and headed home.
