7:10 am, and Kayla and I are in the air on our way to Paris, France. We slept the entire 1 hour and 45 min plane ride. We took a bus into the city, and then the metro to the neighborhood our hostel is in. After asking for some directions, as the maps did almost nothing for us, we found Montclair Hostel where we will be staying the next few nights. We got there around 11 and had to wait until 3 to check in. So we went and got pastries with chocolate chips in them of course. We went on the Internet for a while trying to use time, and then decided that it was late enough for European lunch. We went to a cafe where I got tortellini with smoked salmon, and Kayla got an omelette with French fries. There was a semi flee market on the sidewalk that we peeked through, but no must haves were found. We walked back to check in, and proceeded to take a three hour long nap. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. We woke up and went down to the lobby to look at brochures and figure out what to do with our time in Paris. This is when we met Kyle. Kyle is a redhead from Virginia who is a junior accounting/economics major studying abroad in Dijon. He was staying at Montclair by himself and had been in Paris for a day or two already. He was looking up things to do and saw us looking at brochures and asked us if we were Americans. After covering where we are from he asked if we were looking for something to do tonight, and that if we wanted we could come with him on a pub crawl. It was through the same tour company he had toured with that day. We agreed, bought tickets, and had an hour to eat and get ready. We met up with Kyle and Jess, another girl from our hostel traveling from NYC, and took the metro to the meet up spot. We get out of the metro and the first thing I see when I get above ground is the Moulin Rouge. We met up with a big group and started at an Australian bar. The deal was that with the pub crawl you could get a discounted select beer or cocktail, and with whatever drink you got, you got a free shot. There was a soccer game on, so the bars were packed. Next we went to a bar called black sheep which was super tiny. The last bar had live music, and we were off to our last stop which was a club. The club was large with lots of strobe lights and a decent sized dance floor. We didn't want to lose each other, so none of us besides Kyle did much dancing. We caught the last metro back to our neighborhood, and seamlessly navigated our way back to our hostel. We split ways and to celebrate not dying Kayla got peanut m&ms and I got a twix. Breakfast at 9 and then more adventures!
