Day 26
Very cool day! Got to see Blarney Castle and kiss the Blarney stone which was amazing. I ended up getting seperated from Jill and Lisa due to the corwd and stopping for pictures, but I stuck with Jamie and we had a blast. We took lots of pictures from the outside of the castle before we even went in, it was just so cool. I wish everyone could have been there to see it with me and to kiss the Blarney stone (as acary as it was!!).It's definently something for everyone to put to put on their bucket list! The climb to the top of the tower was cool and a little un-nerving at the same time. The stairs leading up to the top are spiral and tiny is putting it lightly, and when there are so many people around it go to be a bit much. Since niether Jamie nor I were in a rush to get to the top, we kept getting out of line to explore the various parts of the castle (and so I could breathe!). Once we finally got to the top, the views were amazing! You could see for miles around and it was very cool, and just so beautiul. Kissing the stone on the other hand was just as cool, but sooo scary! You had to lay down on your back, push yourself backwards towards the wall and then arch your back backwards (almost like you were going to do the crab walk) and meanwhile there is only this strange guy holding you and its completely open all the way down! But, despite the fact that it was scary, Jamie and I both kissed the stone. After that we trekked back down the steps and set off to explore the grounds. We saw the Blarney house, but couldn't go in because it is only open to visitors during the summer. But it was still cool to look at. After the house we found this really cool tree that had these low but extremely wide branches that came out of either side. We tried to sit on top of them but our shoes didn't have enough traction to climb. Instead we took pictures of us swinging from them like Tarzan ;-) AFter the cool tree we discovered the door to what I'm convinced is the Secret Garden. We couldn't get in but we got pictures of us trying to. Then we totally found the place where Tinkerbell and the other fairies live! It was this magical-like fern garden with all these neat plants that I've never seen before and cool pathways. None of the fairies came out, but I'm sure its only because they were feeling shy with so many people around, lol!
After discovering so many cool things we decided to see if the gift shop also had cool things and we were not dispointed.I was able to get some neat gifts and something for me too. After that we finished the ride to Cork, checked into our hostel, and went in search of food. We found this awesome place called Clancey's and we all got this phenominal steak dinner! We ended up heading back there later on to listen to the Traditional band that was suppossed to play, but they didn't start on time. It ended up getting late and Jamie and I were both really tired to we left before they played. Time to rest up for tomorrows adventures. Until next time...
