I have had the time of my life over the past week thanks in part to the greatest people in the world, who I've been lucky enough to share this experience with. Annie, Shirin, Kyle, Keke, Kristen, Rose, Meghan, Kelsey, Amy, Amanda, Jane and Clint Stayton, our leader Heather, and of course my fiance Katie. I feel like we've forged some lasting friendships and I hope that we can all keep in touch.
We arrived in Ireland yesterday and went for a short tour of the countryside. Unfortunately it was pouring down rain, but we were able to see some neat old ruins of a church and graveyard. It was incredibly beautiful. We ate at a nearby inn. Today we explored Dublin on our own. Katie and I went to St. Patrick's Cathedral. We also went to Dublin Castle, and an exhibit that showcases world religions. In it we saw reminants of the bible hand written by St. John the apostle in the first century AD. We also saw a scroll from ancient Egypt full of love poetry from about 1000 BC. Dublin is a beautiful city full of ivy covered historic buildings. I wish we had more time to spend here, but we are going home tomorow. Tonight we ate at a quaint, fancy cafe for dinner. We ordered seafood pizza (it had baby squid sitting on it). It was interesting, and actually tasted pretty good. For desert we had Bailey's Irish Cream cheesecake.
