So the first week of classes is done (almost-we have classes tomorrow to make up for a Thursday we're going to miss later in the semester). Classes were a bit hectic this week, because I have been sooo indecisive about what to take. I think I've finally settled on my schedule. I am taking Modern Art History, Hemingway in Spain, 20th Century Spanish Film, a Comm Class and a Spanish language class. I'm working on getting an internship right now, in which case I will probably drop one of my classes. One of my prof's said he could get me one at a free Spanish lifestyle monthly, but I don't know how I feel about that. I would love to work at one of the Spanish versions of an American mag (Elle, Marie Claire, etc). Today I discovered a Spanish magazine, Unica. I like it a lot, so that's another potential option. I don't know if I could even get my foot in the door at these places, but I figure it's worth a shot.
I don't really think there's much else to say. I am finally getting settled and comfortable here. I definitely need to explore the city more. Since I live almost directly in the center of Madrid, I never wander too far from here. Tomorrow we have a walking tour of Hemingway's favorite places, so that will be a nice way to get to know a new area. As always, everything here is perfect. I am getting to know the little boys in my house even more now and they are super adorable! They are 6 & 8. I feel like I have little brothers but since they aren't actually my brothers, I can be selective about when I want to hang out with them haha. They are funny though and a lot of fun to be around.
Today is my friend Ellen's birthday, so tonight we celebrate...too bad there are classes tomorrow.
