Great day today, just moseying around Roma. The kids found a friendly dog a couple of doors up from our caravan park, which they patted and played with through the fence. They called him “Wags”, and Max wondered if we could buy him. (He loved Aunty Michelle’s many dogs, too, especially Jack.)
We walked beside the creek through the magnificent old river gums, tried out the new fitness equipment along the way ... it would have been a superb area before the recent floods ripped up all the landscaping. The boys checked out the miniature railway, which is open at 9:30 tomorrow for rides, so I guess we won’t be heading out of town until after that!
We also tried out the pool here in the caravan park, after lunch when the sun was hot. Unfortunately, the pool was rather the opposite. I dived in but was overcome with a sudden urge to exit again immediately. Max got wet briefly up to his chest, and Jesse accidentally up to his waist. Then they needed a hot shower. My guess is that the water was less than 15 degrees.
Tonite we had Maccas for a ‘treat’, then went to the night show at Big Rig. ’Twas basically a slide show about early oil and gas exploration in the area, with a few special effects using fire, smoke, water and lights. The kids were a bit bored I think.
Set the alarm for an early start tomorrow ... let's see if we can cover at least 400km in a day!
