Kimberley Trek
The country around Cloncurry and through to Mt Isa is spectacular at the minute. I expected the area to be flat and dusty, but it’s actually hilly and covered with green grass and wattles in bloom. Interspersed with these are many small pointy brown termite mounds and other pale-coloured wildflowers. This could be a better than usual season because it’s been a wet 12 months across Qld.
Speaking of wet, and cold, it seems I spoke a little too soon yesterday. The weather caught up with us today, only 18 degrees with wind chill feels like 13. Decidedly non-tropical!
