Cruised the famous Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge today, which is a spectacular place. Must try to come in the wet season next time, though, for comparison; must be awesome to see an enormous volume of water pouring through it. Saw plenty of freshwater crocs but hardly any birds, although just as we neared the end a White-bellied Sea-Eagle did some loops just over our heads, really large and close; so the capture of another lifer was icing on the cake.
Also saw and photographed my first Pheasant Coucals this morning, just behind the caravan park. Quite large with very long tails, at first I thought they must be Koels. They surprised me when I accidentally flushed them from some tall grass I was walking past. According to the guide they hang out in the grass.
Heading out towards WA tomorrow.

Dell Have just been catching up on the blog as we couldn't manage to read much of it on my phone while we were in Spain. Great to know that you have settled into the travelling routine and enjoying the scenery etc. Hope Jesse has gotten over being sick of the holiday!
