Hola! I write this blog poolside at my resort in the panama jungle drinking local cerveza and Cuban white rum & cokes! Got back from a solo mountain bike ride in soberania national park where I went 'birding' on the pipeline road. Saw lots of awesome birds but so far, no toucans!!! Was having a bit of fun with a family of howler monkeys and even had a cigarette with a 3m alligator.. Unbeknown to me of course! He was staring right at me like 5m away while I was having a break at a stream in the jungle!
So it's good to relax after a long 10 days of constant traveling. It's hard to believe I still have another 6.5 weeks to go! I miss home so much already.. My girl and my Awesome dogs! I've got a night boat tour tonight on the chagres river so hope that will be good, then I'm going to check out a hotel tour in the morning to do... Soooo many options! I had a traditional Latin meal at a street vendor in panama city yesterday that is worth remembering; fish, rice, curried lentils and plantain... f*** me, I must find plantain at home some where. It's like a cross between sweet potato and pumpkin and is so good!
So today I saw iguanas, monkeys, about 10 different species of birds, tortoises and an alligator. Can't wait to see what I discover on a tour!
But for now, adios from gamboa!
