After a long but fairly smooth flight over I landed at Heathrow airport a few hours ago (well technically the pilot landed). When the plane was descending to land, the top half of the windows looking out were foggy which had the effect of blurring the background slightly and making it look like we were flying into a model city. I caught 'the tube' from the airport to my hostel in Central London, and tried to remember which station names were from Monopoly. After checking into my hostel (St. Pancras YHA - looks really well set up) I had a quick walk around the city and found the British Library which looks pretty impressive, lots of very old collections, although I'm actually more interested in their newest addition: free wifi. I'm getting a little hungry (around 6,30 pm here), so i might go grab some dinner now. Heaps of stuff I wanna do tomorrow, (can't wait to start exploring) but I'll post more about that later

Barry Poulton I am going to enjoy this trip!
regina So glad you're there..oops sorry about the one star rating,I made a mistake, its 5 star for sure
Michael Great to hear you are set up and getting around. Make sure you try the English fish and chips (not sure about the burgers)
Barry Maybe the curry!
Bren I did try some fish and chips they were okay, the fish batter is a bit more salty, tastes a bit different. I prefer Melbs. Will have to try some curry on the way back through hopefully! Have heard a lot of people say the best food in London is the ethnic food, not the traditional English stuff. I tried some Japanese which was really really good.
