We woke up this morning all refreshed raring to go and spend the day visiting the Isle of Capri. After a half an hour walk along the coast to the town of Sorrento we jumped on a bloody expensive ferry (we're giving the credit cards a good bashing) and made our way across.
The main coastline off Sorrento is amazing with it's multi-coloured homes sitting on huge cliff faces. The ride itself was fairly quick and before long we had arrived at the beautiful Isle of Capri. Getting off we decided against the boat out to the grottos as we did one of these in Lagos last year so we grabbed some fruit and headed up to the town of Capri on the cable cars.
The city centre of Capri was very pretty and had some great views of the coast. The city was also absurdly expensive with designer stores everywhere and try €5 for a ham sandwich. After getting our photos we headed further up the island to Annacapri for more photos and a cheaper lunch. This turned out to a better idea as we bought our lunch from a little old Italian mumma so it was all fresh, yummy and authentic!
After exploring this little town we decided it was just way too hot and headed back down to the beach to cool off. The rocky beach was uncomfortable, tiny and packed but that didn't stop us, we still jumped in and enjoyed our first swim of the season! Then after our relaxing afternoon soaking up the sun we jumped on a ferry back to Sorrento to explore.
After an ice-cream and another early evening swim we had a lovely traditional Italian meal and settled in for a movie before hitting the sack.
