The happiest place on earth is .....Disneyland!!!!
Today was probably the most excited I (Brett) have been on this trip! I was ready to push my way past any kid that got in my way...just kidding (not really haha). As Bec has found through our years together, I'm still a child deep down. We jumped out of bed, packed the bag, shoveled our breakfast and were off.
The drive began smoothly, I mean how many mistakes can you make when you have a garmin to navigate the way.....it turns out quite a few when your co pilot turns it off on you then starts to freak out because she can't use it, oh and we were also on a busy highway that was confusing as hell. After a difficult drive we finally arrived at Disneyland 30mins before it opened.
Disneyland is AMAZING!!! It is split up into seven different areas each with its own theme, that is brought to life amazingly well through the rides. The first land we entered was main street USA which is basically shopping and the main intersection between all of the areas. After that we decided to go left to right in our attempt to get everything done in just one day. We thought we were going really well up until lunchtime. We had just finished the new Orleans section and had lunch, not to mention we had managed to see three areas already and it was only 1:30pm. From there on in it began to get a little more difficult as each of the lands got bigger and the lines for the rides longer. We were able to get through Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland getting on the main rides- Finding Nemo, space mountain, etc before the parade began so it worked out well in the end as we did everything we wanted to do.
The parade was great with all the different themed floats, characters and dancers it definitely took us back to our childhood! After, the parade made it's way back to the castle where we had our photo taken as it was all beautifully lit up. It was then dinner time so we made our way to the Western BBQ and had a American all you can eat feast with the best BBQ ribs, sausages and chicken we've ever had mmmm those ribs were so good!! The car park had quietened down by that point so we made our way to the car for an easy drive home. It was one awesome day in the happiest place on earth, eleven and a half hours really wasn't enough in Disneyland but what a great day it was!
