So its been a while since i last did a blog, and things are still fresh in my mind to be able to write this one :) So we're on the way back down to Melbourne from Darwin on our Oz Experience tour, which is in fact now with another tour group called Australia Tours (They brought out Oz-ex) But hey ho its all the same. For more info on what we did they got a very cool detailed map of where we did things and what we did etc here:
So our 1st leg of the Journey was a 2day 4x4 trip to Kakadu in a Smallish truck which was converted into the beast we traveled in. Our Tour guide being Emma, she was a quirky character :) Was a fun little trip.
It started with a trip to the Mary River to do some Croc spotting, but it was nothing like the one we had with the croc jumping guys. Crocs here were tiddlers :P And few less there (Think our camera's died somewhere around here, so not to many images) Then it was of to Kakadu national park to see some Aboriginal rock art. This was veryt funky!!! In with all this we went of round to Twin Falls and Jim Jim Falls to do a spot of swimming in some cold ass water! Beautiful though.
The Next leg we were on was from Darwin to Alice Springs, this is where we met Jason 'Daniel Craig' W, amongest many more nicknames. Top notch chap!! Not only did he go of the itinary to give us all a better tour he even stopped to rescue dead 'banana skins' and other roadskill. Along with his GaiPod he had a license to kill :)
There were many the same stops down the same highway as we traveled from Cairns to Darwin. Plenty of fuels stops, piss breaks that sort of thing, it was another looong drive. We had Jason for 3 days, where each night and day was cool as fook! Campfires with his 'White Man Magic (Hand sanitiser)', Digi beat boxing :)
There was Katherine Gorge again, but we did some Canoeing there and rock/pebble climbing trying to navigate through the rapids and not slipping in :) Mataranka Thermal Pools, which was beautiful, just like a warm bath just with algey and stuff in :) Pink Panther pub, with a nice like Zoo, where beth fed a croc called Sneaky Sam its dinner of chicken legs. Then onto Daly Waters which has a population of around 20-25 people, and its right in the middle of no where. They also have australia's oldest pub, which is littered with any for of memerobilia you want to leave, from id's to bras to footie shirts, you name it it'll be in there. Next stop was Devils Marbles for a second time :) Where we managed to snap a dingo chilling on one of the rocks. Next to Wycliff Well for our piss take, we were all in tin foil hats so the aliens couldn't hear our thoughts (This place was the most ufo visited place in oz)
We got to Alice a wee bit tired. But no the less, had a nice meal at the Rock Bar, and a couple shandy's with the gang. Was a nice finishing party. And within a couple days saying farewell to Jason! :(
