Somehow the easter bunny managed to track us down here in Orlando, missing home on a day like today, but hard to beat what we got up to. A very lazy start (they're becoming more common) got us to Epcot by 11:30. The big attraction here is Soarin' - the fast pass return was already sold out so we queued the estimated 75minutes, then the additional hour to get on the ride. 2 hours! No way the ride could live up to that wait, and it didn't.
If I hadn't been to Universal yesterday and seen Spiderman and the Harry Potter thing it might have been grand, but unfortunatley... Anyway the kdis loved it. Next was test track, a simulated car test track run where you go over a bunch of car test situations (bumps, corners, braking) before hammerin a lap on a banked track. Same deal re Universal rides, I came out and told Gab not to bother.
Mission:Space is a launch and flight simulator for a future Mars mission. Now this was awesome stuff. the G-forces had the woman next to me turning white, she staggered out at the end and paused to collect herself next to another woman who was evacuating lunch into a bag. Wicked!
Gab took the kids on the Nemo encounter while I checked out Spaceship Earth - a train ride through our progression from caveman to spaceman. Awesome stuff and a fantastic way to recaputre the roman empire to renaissance history we've just spent a month touching.
We're coming back to Epcot the day after Emerson's birthday so we headed to Downtown Disney for an early dinner. We didn't make it to Dinner, Max had an alterior motive for bringing us here and diverted us as soon as we arrived. If you have a little girl in your life you know wat build-a-bear is. Well here the same company has set up build-a-dinosaur. He has talked about it since we spotted it on our first day in Orlando, so as soon as we got to Downtown he dragged us in "just to check it out" half an hour later and he'd build "Blaze" his new saber tooth tiger.
We strolled - yep first time in months - back to the hotel and had a dinner and a few relaxing drinks by the pool as the sun went down. Tomorrow we're heading out to the coast to the Kennedy Space Centre, very excited!
Here's a special Easter wish from us over here, hope you had a great Easter too. Happy Easter!
