Finally. A lie in. I was rather proud of my 11.30am start to the day! Today's agenda was going to be rather packed in any event. First stop was Stanley Bay - HK actually has beaches, and rather impressive landscapes to match. Although the beaches themselves aren't too deep and apparently the water quality isn't all that. the sun is not and the views spectacular, so I think I've found my new holiday resort - forget Europe! HK combines cheap luxury shopping, City nightlife and sandy beaches. I'm sold!
After a few hours sunning ourselves on the beach, we made our way back into central to take a bus to Victoria Peak. The Peak boasts absolutely stunning views over HK island with an incredible skyline. We had a coffee overlooking nightfall and having breathed in the end of the day we made it to Lan Kwai Fong, the main bar area of HK for dinner and drinks. Of all the bars in the area we chose some random German Bar, but despite the Deutschland feel, the food was very good.
After an exhausting day we decided to call it a night. Tomorrow would see me navigating HK public transport solo, quite an adventure but doable. All signs and announcements are made in both Cantonese and English. and the platforms and ever map systems are far clearer than anything we have in the UK! Famous last words...
