Today it was up at 2.30am to begin the drive to Abu Simbel. Arrived there for dawn. Very impressive and spent a few hours exploring the temples and enjoying the lake. Then the drive back to Aswan again.

This afternoon we began our Felucca sail back up the Nile from Aswan to Luxor. We a sailing with three Nubian guides. All very lovely, although not as open and playful as our Bedouin friends.

The Felucca is larger than I thought it would be with plenty of room to spread out. Toilet facilities are shall we say... Basic. We sleep in our sleeping bags on the deck of the boat, underneath the stars. So relaxing, and not as cold as the desert. Spending most of the time sleeping, reading, playing cards or dominoes, or just enjoying the scenery. The sail to Luxor should take us about three and a half days.
