Day two , woke up to a rainy grey morning, so we decided a day using the national transport system was in order and some sight seeing on the isle of wight.
We caught the 11.30 am ferry from lymington to Yarmouth which was a steady crossing . It took just around 30 minutes and as we disembarked we headed for the bus ticket office and got some 24 hour rover tickets. Firstly we went on the needles tour on an open top double decker then got off at the needles visitor centre for a look around and a game of crazy golf . The usual bet applied of a crisp fiver and it wasn't long before I had taken the first of lou's fivers of her.
We then headed back for the bus station and proceeded towards newport and further on to shanklin . After a trip on the cliff lift we ended up at another crazy golf course where I took another fiver off Lou . Having both won a bonus game on the ring the bell hole at the end we played another round for a tenner which Lou went on to win.
We then flew Back up to the cliff lift and heading back in haste to make sure we could catch the ferry back at 19.30.
After arriving back in lymington port we couldn't find a taxi anywhere so had the brisk walk (for me) and half a jog for Lou back to the town and through to the other side where we found a really small
Chinese restaurant . We of course supporting small business in this time of recession ,thought we had better do our bit , so we went in to offer our support.
An hour later we emerged both bloated to the gills . We could neither hardly walk . So In a taxi and back to Lytton lawn it was and we got in for about 10.00pm . Lou was limping by this time and when she took her old converse trainers of ,the inner sole of them was eaten away and her socks had worn out by all the walking . They are both now in the bin of course .
I think it's the most Walking we have done for some time .
