I still haven't gone anywhere, but lots of other people have. It is the end of the year here at Ohio University and even though I wil be rerurning in the fall, there is always a sad sense of finality to the start of the summer. Don't get me wrong, it's also a glorious feeling. Students are excited to go off to exciting adventures and foreign lands, some are thrilled to learn the ropes of the business world, others are just beginning their lives as adults, and then there are those who can't wait to spend their summer at home basking in the sun and serving ice cream at the local Dairy Queen or putting shingles on suurban homes in the hot, hot heat. Whatever it is, there is a juxtaposition of the way summer comes upon us. It is a combination of new and old coming together, sad and happy, all mixed in with a little scared as hell.

Yeah, my friends are all leaving in the next few days for their own adventures. I am most petrified not of culture shock or having enough money, but of missing them. One of my friends is going to India for 3 months! I'm pretty terrified for her. But, I know I will come back and Athens will be Athens, OU will be OU, and my friends with their new experiences will be just as excited to see me as I am to see them.
