Last week we left Bangkok and headed for the beach yeah! We took a ferry to Kho Tao and Island above Kho Phangan. We spent three days there, the weather was gorgeous and sun really hot. We hired a quad bike for the day which was a lot of fun, we travelled to the north of the island to Huan Bay and snorkelled which was amazing so many beautiful fish, Josh loved the swimming as well. We then made our way to Mango bay which was quite an adventure. We had to tackle some difficult terrain with the bike and eventually left it on the road and walked the rest of the way to get to the beach. We trekked through the jungle, I'm sure most people get there by boat which probably would have made better sense but we trekked and met a couple from Germany also heading to the beach so at least we had company. When we got there it was amazing beach with awesome snorkelling so the trek was really worth it. The next day we spent snorkelling near to where we stayed and came across a shipwreck which was amazing to snorkel around and very exciting for Josh as well, he's learning to snorkel too and just in a few days has bilt up his confidence in the water and really loving it. We then moved on to Koh Phangan which was a lot more commercialised and a lot of tourists for the famous full moon party. We stayed in BAn Tai which was further up from Had rin away from the masses which was nice. We hired a scooter for two days and explored the island, we snorkeled, visited waterfalls ate at the night market which was a real winner. We left Kho phangan and caught a ferry back to the mainland and made our way down to Krabi. There are no words to describe this awesome place. The cliffs fall into the sea and there are many outcrops out at sea with caves to explore and discover. We hired a kayak today and went to explored around the cliffs which was a lot of fun. The water is crystal clear, we stopped at a few coves with little beaches to cool off and carried on for the day, we got quite burnt and rather exhausted afterwards but it was amazing. we staying in a Bungalow in Tonsai which we had to catch a long tail boat to get here as there are no roads, our bungalow only cost 200 Bhat wich is only about R50 per night, its so cheap here compared to the islands so looks like we'll be here for a while. Tomorrow is Tyrons birthday so I'm sure we'll go out somewhere nice to eat and chill for the day.
We spent up to Thursday in Krabi, we met up with some people and went rock climbing it was a lot of fun. Josh even had a go and I think it's safe to say Tyron doesn't have a fear of heights anymore! Josh also had a go at fire dancing or poi he really amazed us. After a good week we've decided to move on. We are now in Cambodia after a gruelling 36 hours later we eventually arrived in Siem Reap last night. It took us 6 hours from the boarder in a shot out bus to do 150 kms but we made it. We just chilled today and going to watch the sunset at Angkor tonight and probably stay 3 more days.
