Hello everyone, we are still in Adelaide and will be here for another week.. After being evicted from Scott and Belindas palace yesterday(they had some friends coming to stay from Melbourne)we decided that we would stay in Glenelg for another week seen as we had no other plans. So we moved into a hostel just around the corner which isnt bad but I was starting to feel at home with my own room and paying no rent.lol.
Anyway last Sunday Scott took us to a girl he knows 24th birthday bash (Alison) down at Hendley beach. He introduced us as usual as "the poms" and then left us to mingle with the rest of the guest, most of them were well on their way and it was only 3 o'clock in the afternoon...So not to let our country down we got to the bar and started to match them pint for pint. Now im not much of a drinker in the day time so after about three pints I was starting to feel it. All I can say is its a good job it only takes Dave a sniff of the stuff to get him drunk.lol. As the afternoon progressed and most of the party poopers had gone home, it was only 6 o,clock...Alison and her friends decided to take us to another bar called the grand, so some how we all managed to sqeeze into her mums car (7 of us) and head down to our neck of the woods Glenelg. As we pulled up baring in mined it was only about half past seven, the bar was packed and people were Qing around the corner already....So we stood their for about two hours and had moved about 10 places so we decided to call it a night, oh and by this time Alisons friend had taken her home because she wasnt feeling too good. I have a feeling the three bottles of wine she drank didnt help.lol.
The next morning it was time for Dave to show Scott his golf skill. I was going to go with them but golf isnt really my game and 7.30 in the mornings a little to early for me.lol. So after getting up around 10ish I had a little wonder around the shops before joining Will on the beach that afternoon. That night we had a few games of pool, which I would like to menshion I beat Will ten games to two...
Tuesday was the final day of the second test match so after getting to bed resonable early we got up around 8 o'clock that morning and headed for the Adelaide Oval with the rest of the Barmy Army in tow. We didnt have tickets but because England were in control (we thought) we were told their may be a few tickets floating about so we decided that we would go down and see if we could get in. To our amazment we managed to get ticket from an English fella out side the place for only 20 dollars each which is about 8 pound... what a result seen as back home you would be paying about 35 pound for a ticket if you were luck enough to get one.
So in we went thinking we was going to see a famous English victory, how wrong we were. But it was a really good day even though we mayed a school boy mistake and sat with the Aussie fans untill lunch. After that we joined the barmy army on the other side of the hill and gave the Aussies a right ear full, well not Will he wouldnt join in..as the afternoon progressed and me and Dave moved onto our 16th pot of beer...we needed it the way the cricket was going and these aussies only sing when their winning... So one of the barmy army old boys (Jimmy the legend) Rallied the troops and even though the game ended in the wrong result all you could hear was the army chanting at the aussie players especially Shane Warne the drug cheat..lol. We made a quick escape away from the ground via the Barmy Army bus and ended the day drowning our sorrows with the rest of the English fans in a good old pub.(while im on the subject of busses, go on burts with ya little busmans uniform. you better be driving that 53 when I get home.lol.)
So yesterday we moved out of Scotts place and into the hostel, I tell ya their was a few tears as we made the short walk round the corner to our new home. But we cheered up again once we discovered they had sky and Spurs were on, go on the yids..as Dave would say as they managed to overcome Boro 2-1. And last night we bought Scott and Belinda a few prezies to say thank you and had a night on their Balcony trying to come up with a plan of where we will be going next...and I will leave you in the knowledge that im still not 100 sure....so bye for now.
