Bob and Nicks excellent adventures
Sydney and the Blue Mountains!
OK so this could be a long one, its been a while a things have happened - I cant acctually remember the last update so i''ll go from the end of Port Mqueeeeeeeery.
Decided to save a little cash by doin an overnighter from port mcqueery down to Sydney on the bus, getting on at 12am and getting off at 6am. It was s***e! We had had a full day of hardcore climbing and hoonin are bags around then drank a beer eaten a fat steak, followed by beers and a kebab and so should have slept pretty well!..not so. Got into Sydney feeling like crap and luckily managed to get a hostel and sleep till Mid Day.
Blue Mountains - Are Awsome! This has been the highlight of Oz, better than the oldest rainforest in the World, better than miles of beaches at 28 degrees, better than the great barrier reef.....This place was Awsome..check out the photos. Anyway, we got there and found that part of one of the walks starts/finishes with a massive 900 step climb from the top of the mountains to the valley, so naturally that evening we walked down and back up that for a bit of training. The next day we embarked on a fat ass 6hr walk through the bush (lush forests) into the middle of nowwhere, we saw 2 other people in 6hrs. You might of thought that after france we would be careful to pack enough water, not so.......we packed non. Luckily there was a mountain stream which was good to drink, and so far neither of us have s*** water so it looks like it was ok. At the height of the walk, 3 hours from base we were at the top of this mountain and decided to have an egg sandwhich....Anyway no sooner had we sat down when this fat f***in bird with a huge thick beak started swoopin down trying to steal our food! s***ty bird, anyway we ran away and got a stick, retrated to lower grounds and managed to get the food in before missioning it back, up the 900 steps and home! Sweet! Probably the best walk i have ever done!
Yeah so the blue mountains were f***ing wicked. We checked out of there and headed back to sydney where we got a train to a town called hurstville, which is where wed sorted out a place to stay with friends of catherines. They came and picked us up from the train station and we had a slap up feast that evening of chicken and rice and a few glasses of wine. how sweet is that!!!!
So the next day which happens to be today, we set off for sydney and made our way to manly, and manly beach. A short ferry ride took us out of sydney harbour and to manly. The views of the city from the ferry were absolutely amazing, with the pera house in full glory!!! Manly beach was nice but we have spent alot of time on beaches and so it wasnt anything too special. The weather stayed fair though which is a bonus, 22 degrees and its supposed to be winter, ha ha.
Anyway on the way back from manly, we stopped on the harbour front for a couple of beers before heading back to jan and ians, and it was beautiful. the sun was settinfg over the opera house, we had an ice cold beer in our hand and a lamb roast to look forward to when we got back, of life is good. On the way back to the train station, a foto op was spotted, and it may look like a professional foto but the picture of harbour bridge by night was actually taken with my (Nick) own fair hands, yeah its bloody beuatiful.
Anyway, jetting off early tomorrow to New Zealand so check out proceedings from there!!!!
