Bob and Nicks excellent adventures
Ok, so were still in Sucre for the time being. The city is really small, for saying it is the former capital of the country, but having seen the state of some of the small towns its a bustling metropolis. To be honest weve not been up to too much really, spending the earlier days here milling around the streets, going to cafes and people watching in the squares in the sunshine, which isnt wholly a bad way to spend your days, but it doesnt give you much purpose. So.....we enrolled for some spanish lessons at a local school, and for now until wednesday we are going for lessons at 11am, after a spot ofbreakfast at the cafe next door. I think Bob is finding it tough, and he reckons it brings back painful memories of french lessons at school. but we are both coming on leaps and bounds, with our teacher telling us all sorts of wierd stories in spanish about eating penis soup for virility and eyeball soup for getting more breast milk...its all very strange. Anyway thats about all we do...but there is a new piece of excitement in our lives which started today. I bought a dice from the market and we became the dice men...inspired from the book that bopb has recently been reading. So our lives are dictated at the moment by the dice. We write down several options and let the dice decide what we are going to do. The things that it decides range from the clothes we wear, our hairstyles, what we eat and drink and where we go etc. Today was pretty funny because we went to this cafe, our breakfast haunt and ordered our usual meat pasty type things...but we let the dice decide how we were going to eat them. Bob ended up having to eat his juicy pasties with his fingers while i had to cut mine up with a spoon. After that we had our lesson and went for lunch at the local gringo joint. And we let the dice decide again...haha...Bob ended up with nothing to drink..while i rolled for a coffee, and then he rolled for food and got a cheesecake, but unfortunately there were no cheesecakes left, so he rolled agail and got f*** all!!! so it was to be hunger for the rest of the day. I on the other hand rolled and got the biggest dish on the menu...but the funny thing wasm, i wasnt all that hungry, but still i got it down...nice.
Later in the afternoon we were in for a treat because the school had organised for us to play a bit of "wally" with some local chicos. Wally is a bit like volleyball but its also a bit like squash because there are walls all around you and the ball can richochet all over the place and its not out. Its all pretty funny because its like there arent many rules because the ball can bounce back of the net and you can carry on as long as it doesnt hit the floor... strange s***.
Yeah, so after that it was time for the dice to decide where we were goping to eat,and it turned out to be bibliocafe which is where i had previously eaten some ranced beef and intestine, it nearly made me sick. The dice also allocated 7 as the time for eating, which pleased Bob alot because he was starving, but as for me i was still stuffed from lunch. So we wen out and rolled for drinks, i got nothing and bob got a flat fanta...not a good start...but it was set to get worse for bob because he ended up rolling for an icecream in a crepe whilst i got a chilli con carne with nachos...oh dear oh dear. The next drinks werent much cop also with a vino blanco for bob and a mineral water for me...to be honest i think the waiters thought we were a bit crazy... but that wasnt as bad as what came next which was what tip to leave...there was an option for up to 25 percent but it ended up being the most measly amount...so we left 1 boliviano and got the hell ot of there (thats about 6p). But then...theres always hassle from beggars, alot being children, and this young girl came up o us and held out her hand...but er couldnt give until the dice decided so we rolled and it turned out that bob could give her something which was a very good thing because we felt proper bad about letting the dice decide but that just the way it is. Its pretty funny tonight because we have ended up going back to the hostel because of the dices decision, and it turns out that the dtce doesnt want bob to use the internet, play the guitar, read, listen to music or even look at his fone so he hasnt got anything to do apart from 75 press ups and lie on his bed while i am free to play the guitar, use the internet and i dont know what else..All inall its been an alright day today for me but you never know what tomorrow might bring...were off to the local fair to hopewfully pick up some treats, but you never know, we might be there in long johns with swept back hair...only tomorrow will we know!!! ha ha easy
