Bob and Nicks excellent adventures
We have now arrived in Santiago after a couple of nights in Aukland, which wasnt that exciting, apart from eating a fat steak at Toni's!!
For me, the flight was absolutely horrendous....Whilst sitting in the airport, we decided to go to maccy D's, where bob had a big mac and i ahd a chocolate milkshake. Everything was going fine, we were on time, boarded etc and it looked like a plain sailing 11 hour flight. But....5 hours into the journey, after a couplke of beers and time for bob to spill red wine all down his leg, things started to go wrong...my belly just wasnt feeling quite right. Getting increasingly aggitated by stomach pains I sought the toilet. However, on my way back to my seat i came over all woozy and sweating and ended up falling onto a woman in an aisle seat, much to her dismay. Anyway I managed to make it back to my seat where i woke Bob up and told him I wasnt feeling too well, I apparently looked like s***, all pasty like. So he got me some water and things seemed to be getting better...until I puked my guts up into a plastic bag which had to be disposed of in the toilet bin...what a stinking mess!! And so, for the next 6 hours I was sick once every half hour..anything that went down came back up, including my breakfast fruit, which i have to admit wasnt a wholly unpleasant experience ha ha.
It felt soooo good to get to the floor, but i had to be sick as soon as we got into the airport terminal!!!
stumbling around, disorientated and jetlagged, we fought our way through the hoards of taxi driverstrying to get our custom, but in the end we got coerced into getting into a cab...or more of a van really...by these two chilleans. Being unfamiliar with the chillean peso until we got to the hostel, we later realised we had been conned out of 20 quid each!!!! yeah, now thats an annoying end to a very s*** day.
At the hostel we slept for about 6 hours before heading out for a substandard pizza, and back to bed again for a sleepless night...Happy days!!
Today has been a lot better and we have done a wee bit of sightseeing around Santiago, which has its good points and its bad points. Some of it is a real dive but other parts are really nice and it has some wicked architecture interspersed with s***ty buildings!!! Overall its not a bad place, especially when you can enjoy a nice plate of swordfish/seabass in a fish restaurant in the central market whilst watching the England game witha cold beer!!!
over and out
