phil Hey guys, good to hear from you. I'll do another bungy for you if you want to pay for it, this stuff ain't cheap. We've been eating some pretty strange stuff: we had, for instance, egg and tomato broiled together on top of rice the other day (see new photos). We've also had a few lunchtime specials around here. It's cheap living. John, we went to a winery in Malborough. We had a few sips of reasonable wine. We know nothing of their true quality.

Craig Send emails *and* post here Phil!? That's a lot of effort for just one man. When I travel, I think i'll keep it hush hush, then people won't feel guilty for not writing. I did attempt to take over this baord a while back, but seemed futile as, as you say no one posts. Maybe you're just not in peoples' minds enough - a bit like a school kid not getting given a nickname; I never did... Off to London again tomorrow, so bed time. I'm always tired these days, as if I have a leach constantly sucking my meagre energy from me. Have fun times.

BJ Hey Nick (and everyone else), not had chance to use the phone yet, my old phone seems to be working fine so I'm gonna stick with it until it gives up the ghost. Glad to hear everyone's ok back home, I'm in Wellington at the moment, the weather is pretty atrocious, even worse than Scotland. It won't stop raining today so I'm taking shelter in an internet cafe. Had a very entertaining last few days, I was actually in Hunterville yesterday (Sat). We arrived in the afternoon, hunterville were celebrating a 'shepards shemozzle!!!' and Duncan n Robyn were partying in the town centre. Unfortunately I missed the early stages of the shemozzle, which involved kids racing sheep and sheep dogs over hills and through the village which would have been interesting to watch. We did however, manage to get arrive just in time for some free bbq food and beer, we stocked up on steak sandwiches and sausage butties, much better than the jacket potato and beans we're often on whilst on the road..... I'm just gonna write the rest of this in the journal section coz I've a fair bit to say x

Sounds like ure having an immense time. Im ever so jealous of u. Ive started back in hospitals. In clatterbridge on the wirral for 6 weeks at the mo working on a stroke rehab unit. Very interesting but id rather be on a round the world adventure. Hope the mighty mobile is holding out for u. Ru going or have u been to hunterville to check in with our relatives yet? Everyone is doing fine back here. Im going home next weekend (at the same time as Debsoir) for a little Green gathering. Grandparents are well eager to see us. ive not been home since I came to uni. However, grandpa Green has been writing some hilarious letters and Grannie Lovelady has been spot on with the email and texting. My fog would have been closer to the answer and she can only say 'woof' (or 'grr', either is closer than bread) I've just been taken down by a jacket potato, hard and fast! IT was nearly as big as me! Hey, Pete shall we just take over this travel board and claim it as our own space, with daily quips and tales of grandeur!? Got my haircut today, was another disappointment :( - stares out of window into a dark and lonesome night; glimpsing his semi reflection in the glass, and thinking 'why?'

Craig Irish Phil, Camp/Gay Phil, Normal Phil (you)... he's just one of the many Phil's about, and as such nothing special! But good to hear things going well, and in NZ now. Now what is special though, is my new recent anecdote to tell (100% true): At bus stop this morning in Bristol, and two total chav girls (full of piercings, common accents etc) are talking in front of me (prob about 15/16). One asks the other, 'Is Turkey in Hungary?' I did a double-take and when the other girl replied, 'Dunno!' I knew I was witnessing a classic the likes of which hasn't been seen since Jade Goody first graced our screens (and filled them, the fat, thick, rich donkey). It got better though. After talking about her disinterest in Geography, the first girl follwed such moronic question with, 'Hey, what's the capital of Amsterdam!?' I nearly burst! Fitting off full scale laughter, I was thinking, 'This is amazing, glad I got up at 6:30am for this!'. Again the other girl didn't know the answer, and first girl turned to some of her guy mates, 'Hey, what's the capital of Amsterdam?' One guy replied, 'Why, whats happened to it!?' Fantastic! Still between all four of the group none of them knew, how utterly retarding they were sounding, or the answer! I wasn't going to explain to things to them, as I don't like to mix with scum. Their bus come and I was left bewildered and shocked. I liked that fact that, she thought a country was a city, and a city a country! Still, shows how dull my life is when that is the highlight of today.

Claire Hi Cuz, Glad to hear your travels are going well. I have been away for over 8 months now and it is almost time to say goodbye to Australia. I'm gutted although shouldn't be too sad as still got Asia to look forward to. Today I jumped out of a plane from 14,000ft. Crazy, hey?! Make sure you do it. Try and do it in Taupo in the North Island of NZ as it is the cheapest place and make sure you get a dvd to send home. Granny Beryl is sure to love it!! You'll love NZ, I certainly did. You'll love Queenstown in the South Island. Many drunkens nights to be had there. Go to world bar and drink cocktails out of teapots!! East Coast Oz. Byron Bay is beautiful. Go to cheeky monkeys and dance on tables and do a day trip to Ninbin, it's crazy!! Spend a few days in Noosa, its beautiful and go to Steve Irwins zoo (god bless him). Fraser Island and Whitsundays are amazing. We just came back from a 3 day sailing trip around the Whitsundays on a $25million boat called Matador. Really good boat and great crew. Anyway enough of me rambling (must still be on a high from jumping out of a plane)!! Will e-mail you loads more tips of where to go and what to do and places/things to avoid! Take care and enjoy every minute cos it will be over before you know it. xx
