Hello everybody, we're in Lisbon today and feeling cold - Sheila's had to buy a scarf. The Aussies are all asking us if it's like this in England and we're saying no, it's much worse - you'll need more than a scarf to keep you warm. Lisbon is an attractive city and although we have been before it's still nice to wander around. We have just had our 'elevenses' at Starbucks, they're everywhere and we can say that now we have been all round the world.
Since our last entry we have been to Athens and visited the awesome Acropolis. which more than lived up to expectations. It was a lovely warm day which helped the atmosphere and you could really imagine what it was like 500BC. Some of it is remarkably well preserved and when we reached the Parthenon we had a great view of the City.
The journey from Athens to Lisbon was the roughest sea conditions we have yet experienced on any ship- force 11 winds and 16 foot waves. There was plenty of sea sickness but us seasoned sailors were not affected!!
We are now on the same time zone as home and it will be nice to see everyone soon. The sun is shining now so we are off to do a bit more exploring. Love to all from us both.
