Hello everyone, we're now on our second day back at sea after spending two days in Hawaii; first day was at Lahaina which is a small town on one of the larger islands. It fitted all our pre-conceptions about Hawii: sawying palm trees warm blue waters with colourful fish and attractive Colonial style buildings. We had a good walk around, soaking up the atmosphere of the place and taking a look in the many interesting shops - bought the 'T' shirt.
Honolulu in contrast was much larger and busier as Hawaii's capital. It was also an attractive and very friendly place and it helped nearly everyone spoke English - well American!! We took a bus ride to Waikiki Beach with another couple from the ship and the ladies enjoyed a paddle in the sea. This area had everything you would want from a holiday location and we could see why Waikiki is so famous. Got lost a couple of times but managed to get back to the ship on time.
Life on board is still very enjoyable and there are so many things to do that we never get bored. The entertainment is first class and gets better all the time. We were invited to a special luncheon yesterday for all passegers doing the full World Cruise (about 400 of the 1,700 passengers) and were surprised to receive an invitation to the Captain's table. It was a very entertaining lunch.
We are now heading towards Samoa and approaching the International dateline in the next few days. That should be different and I'm still trying to get my head round the time change involved - more of this later. Bye for now, keep in touch.

Deborah Glad you are still enjoying it - sounds wonderful. Everything fine back here in the cold and rain!! Love Deborah,Steve and Peter. xx
pete edwards Yes, and we had a good lunch at the Dickenson arms with Steve, Debs and peter - and a free haircut thrown in. Glad you are still enjoying the experiences and sun, and fun and games etc. Perhaps you need a Sat-Nav to stop you getting lost - we wouldn't like you to miss the boat. Still a few extra days in Samoa may be better than a few days at sea! Vi thinks you are sailing on different ships (The Queens) is that right. Keep smiling. Pete and Vi.
