New Zealand Part 1

Tuesday 5th February 2008 - Arrived in Auckland safe and sound but wasn't expecting it to be cold!! Am I gonna have to buy a new winter wardrobe again? Not yet Ian be strong! Anyways got an early night.

6/02/08 - A nice lie in this morning before taking a leisurely stroll around the city, apparently not a great deal to do. Anyways booked on the Kiwi Experience bus tomorrow how exciting.

7/02/08 - Up early this morning to get on the Kiwi Experince bus which will be our mode of transport for the next month or so. Our first stop was the Bay Islands - Paihia. This was an interesting little town with not a great deal to do but we went out on the Excitor to check out the islands in the bay and particularly to the hole in the rock. Oh but we didn't get to go through the hole because it was too choppy, gutted. Anyways made use of our 2-4-1 beer offers and got back about 5am oh dear.

8/02/08 - 2 hours sleep later and we're on the bus heading up to Cape Reinga, wish i hadn't gone out last night. Feeling a little sketchy and we have a nutter of a bus driver who incidentally has just come back from suspension - for what I have no idea, although i would suggest it was probably crashing the bus. Saw where the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean meet, went sand boarding down the giant sand dunes (which by the way was an 80m walk up the sand dune 3 times - haven't done that much exercise in ages), did a 5 minute walk through a forest before driving along 90 mile beach which was pretty awesome.

9/02/08 - A lie in this morning which was much needed and a relaxing day playing beach cricket and chilling in the spa before heading back to Auckland.
