Habari ya asubuhi (Good Morning).
Just a "quick" entry to tell you about my WONDERFUL students! The class in this photo took their MS Word exam on Friday and got their results back on Monday... and the LOWEST mark was 82%!!! I am very pleased with them and pleased that they are doing well even though they have ME as a teacher!
The student who got 82% is one of the ones I've been working closely with, so she has now jumped up from 54% to 72% to 82% from each course. She told me that she is happy with her progress, so I lectured my class again on the importance of asking me questions and not to carry on if they're struggling!
Sorry to go on, I'm just very happy at the moment! Some of you are teachers so this is nothing new to you, but since I have NO teacher training experience it is a big achievement for me. Plus, I think I am actually getting quite good at teaching now and I'm having fun with my students.... though still no plans to take it up as a long-term career when I get home, I couldn't handle the kids in the UK!
So, all is well here. Edith is now in Holland... and it turns out that even though I am 25 and have lived independently for quite a while now, I am obviously NOT responsible enough to look after the house for 10 days! We have not 1 but 2 of Edith's sisters staying with us.... but it is nice because we all get on very well, and it also means we can share the cooking!
It made me laugh to myself a bit when we dropped Edith at the airport though... she had an escort of 11 people, and we had to get a little mini van to take everyone! Thought of when I left the UK in January to go away for a few MONTHS, and I stayed with Lou & Mark the night before and Mark dropped me at the airport... where was MY big escort?! You are all such BAD friends/family! I expect a full turn out when I get back to the UK!! Hee hee.
OK all for now. I hope you are well.
Love, Rach
