We are back in the U.S.A....we spent Monday on the road from Napier to the glow worm caves in Waitomo Caves to Auckland. It couldn't have picked a better day to rain all day. The caves were awesome...thousands of these larvae light up these caves...that is how they attract food. We took a boat ride through complete darkness to view them.
We drove to Auckland after that for our last night. The kids had a chance to swim in the pool, which was much needed after a long day in the car. The next (and last) day, we explored Auckland. We went to the Sky Tower, which is the highest structure in the southern hemisphere. It is an awesome view from the top of it. So awesome, in fact, Scott thought he should bungy jump from it. So he did. Twice. It was more of a free fall ride from the top to the bottom, not a true bungy jump. And then on our way back to the car (on our way to the airport) Erin spied a reverse bungy ride, where they catapult you up in the air from the ground...essentially a human slingshot. She thought she should do that. She barely made the height restriction. But she talked Scott into pulling 5 G's with her. So he did. Luke and I were happy just to watch. :)
We flew from Auckland to L.A., L.A. to Denver and then Denver to Omaha. By the time we drove back to Lincoln, it was 1:30 AM. Needless to say, we are all a wee bit tired....but in a good way.
Thanks for the great e-mails. We appreciated them being so far from home. Until next time...cheers!
