HELLO FROM CAIRNS!

Ok.....so we last wrote to you from Airlie beach where we were about to go on our Whitsunday's trip! It was a brilliant day and we went with a company called 'Ocean Rafting'. They have been going for year's and instead of going on one of the big boats we thought we would go on this really fast one as you see exactly the same but on a faster pace and we got to spend 2 hours on Whitehaven beach! We did a little bushwalk to Hill Inlet and once we got there, i had never seen anything like it in all my life. It was the most stunning view ever and i just could not stop taking photos...just beautiful!
After saying goodbye to the Whitsunday's, we then headed up to Townsville where we spent two nights on Magnetic Island staying at Bungalow Bay Koala Village which was great fun. We stayed in our own little wooden cabin amongst all the wildlife! We hired out a mini moke for the day and drove around the island, feeding the rock wallabies and visiting the little bays and beaches. We also spent the morning at the on-site animal sanctuary where we held all these animals which you will see from the photos. We even fed a Cockatoo by holding a sunflower seed in our lips..very weird! One night darren decided to feed a possum and in seconds there were about five right outside our cabin along with a pet lizard! We then left Magnetic Island and went straight to Mission Beach for one night as Darren had his skydive booked the following morning. We woke up to beautiful clear skies so it was a perfect day to jump out of a plane, ha! He really enjoyed it and had a safe landing whilst i was on the beach waiting for him! From Mission Beach we headed straight up to Cairns to some really hot weather! We had booked into this hostel called 'Traveller's Oasis' and it was so lovely, really chilled and quirky with brilliant decor!! We then booked up our Great Barrier Reef trip departing the next day! We went with a company called 'SilverSwift' who were recommended by the guy's at the hostel and boarded at 8.15am! After having complimentary tea and muffins, we were told over the tannoy that the ride out to sea may become a little choppy due to the swells! Can you see where im going with this one....15 minutes in, me and darren had literally turned green and were throwing up down the toilet! The first time we had ever been sea sick and no-one had warned us! ha! Luckily as soon as we got to the first snorkelling spot we just got straight into our 'Stinger suits' and got in the water and were fine for the rest of the day! Loved snorkelling and we even managed to see a huge turtle! The following day we had booked a 1 hour scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef which was lovely, especially to see it from the air! We then just chilled by the laguna the following day before we flew back to Sydney yesterday! We are flying to Singapore tomorrow at 3.30pm and arrive at 10pm! Cannot believe we are leaving Australia after 7 months! It's been so fantastic and we really will miss it....but are soooooo excited to see what Asia will bring us in the next 3 months!
