HELLO FROM BRISBANE!
Now were back on the road we will be up-dating the blog more regularly so keep logging on!
OK....so we said our goodbye's to Byron Bay, we had such a great time there and really really loved it! We then left on Wednesday morning to travel once again on the Greyhound to Surfer's Paradise. It was just over an hour's drive which was good! First impressions was that it was pretty commercial with the big building's and it felt like you could be in tenerife or Spain (very touristy). We only had two night's booked there so we thought we would make the most of it anyway. We spent time walking around the town centre and luckily the weather was really nice so just chilled on the beach (which goes on for absolute miles!). On the second day we visited the Q1 Skypoint Tower which once was the tallest building in the world and is Australia's only beachside observation deck! It's 322.5 metres high and we had great views so were able to take some pretty good photos of the coastline. We then left Surfer's Paradise on Friday morning to travel on the Greyhound once again to Brisbane city. We booked 3 night's at Brisbane City Backpacker's which was a really nice hostel, pretty big and very busy! There's even a bar on site so Dal was chuffed about that! On our first day we just walked into the city centre which was only a 15 minute walk from our hostel and explored the town centre and the Parklands at Southbank which you walk over the bridge to get to. Friday we also went and bought some last-minute ticket's to watch a BIG rugby union game at the Suncorp Stadium as it was literally a 5 minute walk from our hostel. It was the Queensland Red's V's Auckland Blues at it was a really good game! Saturday we went back into the city where Dal took a visit into the Treasury Casino. I could'nt bear to watch him lose money so i went shopping! However...he came out with winning's and was $100 up! We then went for lunch and Dal went back for round two! I was certain this time he would lose everything and walk out empty-handed but he came out with another $100 so had won $200, so he was pretty chuffed with himself! Sunday we went down to the Southbank Parkland's as there was this 'Big Community Day Out' event with stalls and band's playing so we just chilled on the grass in the sun! We are leaving tomorrow morning to travel to Noosa where we will be staying with the Beeson family for a few day's. They are our some family friend's so really looking forward to seeing them and exploring Noosa as everyone has told us how lovely it is, so we will keep you posted! Lots of Love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
