So since returning to Sydney I have been working a fair amount and partying a lot, as well as having a very 'different' christmas and NYE! So as I was living with Phoebe I spent Christmas day with family, it was a strange setting as it was hot outside and lunch was with veg and salad-no big traditional hot roast, fire and freezing weather! After lunch I joined a friend Dan who was also on his own for Xmas (my friends were all away) & so we went for a drink in the only place open-a Korean restaurant. From there we went to a mutual friends mums house who works as a bouncer at bar century (where I used to work). He lived in Redfern and we had a very different Xmas. We had turkey, ham (with flies on), battered cauliflower, onion bajees, peas and fried potatoes without gravy-on paper plates with plastic cutlery. The food was good, the atmosphere not quite as good! From there we went to a friends house party but with no bottle shops open, alcohol was minimal and the night ended early!
Onto NYE...I spent it with Jenny (sydneysider-met in Thailand) and Wilma (UK-worked together in cairns). We went from Wilmas to circular quay in hope to see fireworks but got there at 2350, lost each other and had rubbish views whereby I saw nothing and was stood alone, it was quite sad really. I then went to bar century as they'd closed the bar to public and staff were having a BBQ and drinks, I went along and ate kangaroo by accident which I was so annoyed about! Anyway happy new year-lots of exciting things to look forward to in January!
