Hello all,
We have travelled around New Zealand on a big green bus, stopping at various locations for walks, hikes, treks, kayaking, rafting, rubber ring caving and the odd horse ride.
Life is simple and lovely here, the scenery amazing, the people pleasant and the pubs and bars full of English youngsters and the occasional local. It has been a relaxing journey after the craziness of South America, but very gentle.
I have yet to see any hobbits, elves or Orcs, but everytime we are booted off the bus for a walk I do sing the theme tune of Lord of the Rings and then announce to everyone if they would be a hobbit, elf, dwarf or if they can stay as human. This doesn't always go down too well, but I cannot help it if someone wants to be an elf but they are clearly a hobbit. Then we set off on our 'quest' as I call it, overlooking some magnificent views, kill a few orcs, before triumphantly marching back down to the bus.
NZ has glaciers, cliffs, lakes, meadows, mountains, sea views, everything you could ask. I haven't taken too many photos though as they would bore me, let alone yourselves.
There are 50 of us on our bus, and we are slightly tired of it, so going to Uncle Charles' on the 13th March and then we leave for Australia on the 18th, with a rugby match super 16 to catch in between.
Love to all, thanks for the e-mails,
Beth x x
