I knew as soon as I opened my eyes on the morning of the 12th that today would be the most challenging and hardest days that I have ever/will experience in my life (maybe)..excitement and worry at what lay ahead played with my emotions as I was about to go half way around the world on my own, to a place I'd never been before. But today was THE day and there's only so much you can say to yourself to make leaving a bit less emotional...let's just say it didn't work. Mum, Dad, James, Will, Nan and Grandpops stood at the departure gate waving (for the second time) due to the fact I had originally walked through the wrong way, a good start ha! As soon as I stepped foot through the metal detector (no I was not armed) I knew I was completely on my todd! Beth vs the big wide world...or not ha! Laying down now it just feels so long ago that I was rushing to find my departure gate and seat on the plane and to send as many texts as I could before the lovely ladies told me to turn off any electricals, so much for flight mode! I watched the film Crazy Stupid Love, had two full meals in the space of ten hours, fatty I know, oh and I was personally offered cookies and fruit by the head steward of Asiana Airlines, so they treated me well. I also took a new liking to the Beyonce album on my ipod; I figured if I can't teach when I get out to Cambodia, I can whip out the classic and classy bum wiggle....on second thoughts that may not go down very well. After a very long transfer and 5 hour flight with someone else who was thinking of going to teach in Cambodia I made it ( with the wrong visa, this means I might have to cross the Thai border and re enter the country before I'm actually welcome here but oh well). I was picked up in a tuk tuk (soooo want one) by Moa and Heather and here I am, it's 3am and I'm not tired, I'm laying on my bed reflecting upon my long day. I'm thinking that a scooter of some kind will be an investment here :) Tomorrow I will see where I am living in the daylight and meet some new faces, should be good, apart from the fact I look like Monica (from Friends) in the holiday episode where her hair's a frizz...tell you what there is definitly no frizz ease out here, goodbye straight hair.....
