Gail and Peter picked me up and we took off for an all day adventure.
We started off going to the Minnamurra Rainforest, where Peter and I braved the steep hike up to the Minnamurra Waterfalls. While there was very little water coming down from the falls, there was plenty in the form of sweat!! My God, was it hot and humid!!
After taking a bath in the women's bathroom sink, we took off for Kiama, to have some lunch and view the famous blowholes.
Another adventure we had, was driving down to the Crooked River Winery. I saw an episode of Travel Oz, which showcased the winery, and the Pyjama port line. Gail and I were able to taste quiet a few different wines (Peter was our DD), and I bought a Pink Chardonnay for Glenda, a Chocolate Pyjama port for Gail, and a red wine blend for the Christmas Eve party hosts.
Once Peter got Gail and I back to the car, he drove us to Gerringong, where he previously had found the best apple turnovers. The bakery in Gerringong only had 1 turnover left, and the Bidner's graciously let me have it, while they each enjoyed a chocolate eclair. Let me tell you about this turnover!! It was about 10" long, 4" wide, and a good 3" inches tall... Full of freshly made apple pie mix, and real whipped cream!! Thank God I walked that whole rainforest earlier, or I would have gained a good 10 pounds!!
We stopped along the way back, to see the 7 Mile Beach, and some wild kangaroos hanging out in a paddock off the side of the highway.
The night was full of lounging on the couch, and listening to the summer thunderstorm roll through.
