We started the day at 9:30, a day visiting the sites of this beautiful city. 15 of us jumped into two mini buses with local guides to inform us about the highlights.
1st stop: The Kings palace, a beautiful palace costing 8 billion pounds, and to think the King doesn't even live there!
2nd stop: The memorial, for the troops in battle, an attraction where you can enjoy the fountains and the statue. This is a place to reflect and consider those that Malaysia lost in battle.
3rd stop: National Temple, here the group, including both the Men and Women were able to wear the traditional outfits as we explored the beauty of the surroundings. The local people particularly enjoyed our visit, and clearly thrived in teaching us about the traditions and way of life.
4th stop: The Baut Cave, this beautiful big cave holds a temple based within. It is a big attraction within Malaysia, not only for the temple; but also for the wild bats and the free roaming wild monkeys that surround.
The monkeys were definitely one of my highlights of the trip. Before we vacated the bus, we were told to leave all food and drink safely in our bags and not to get it out. I am very grateful that we were given this advice, as I witnessed a monkey take a bottle of coke off a young girl, physically open the closed bottle and drink it!! The young girl, aged approximately 6, remained extremely frightened! We stood within a meter of the Monkeys, taking photos and videos. If only Harvey was hear to see the Monkeys!
On our return back to the city, we were given the option to visit the Petronius towers, I chose to return to the hotel as I was feeling very unwell. I slept for a few hours and waited for Dans return.
Tonight we experienced one of the best nights of my life, the group got dressed up into dresses shirts and shoes, we all looked great. Together we headed into the city for an evening meal and awaited for the rest of the night to commence. At 20:30 we patiently sat awaiting for the water fountains to commence. They were amazing, the coloured water fountains were displayed to music, situated in front of the twin towers - definitely worth a visit.
At 22:00 we headed to the Sky Bar, one of the hottest bars within Kuala Lumper! The view was incredible, looking out on to the towers with the city lit up in the background. Dan and I danced the night away, as we sipped wine and cocktails costing the equivalent to £10 per drink. Within the dance floor was a beautiful swimming pool and I had to be particularly careful not lose my balance whilst wearing my heels, around these areas.
We finished the night at around midnight, conscious that we had to get up early in the morning.
Adam and Lisa managed to get their passports back and the group learnt a lesson!
