Hi all, So the promised update after the dreaded nightbus. It was certainly a weird form of transport, exactly like a normal double decker bus but with three rows of beds in it, two tiers high. We were at the back though and the back row of seats had essentially been converted into a 5 person bed, literally the width of one of us lied down. We got here for dinner time and after some minor confusion about the location of our hotel we found it and settled in. Hello, So we survived the overnight train from Hue, we had to catch it at 11pm which was a pain cos our usual bedtime is like 9pm (sad i know). But i did get a much better nights sleep than on the Bangkok/Chiang Mai trains so all was good. We werent able to share in the 4 bed cabins, but we were OK, i had a canadian guy who obv spoke english in mine so i had someone to chat to. Hello, So we have just got back from our two day trip to Halong Bay. It really did live up to expectations! Was also quite nice to be on a tour again and be told what to do etc, its a nice break from organising everything ourselves.
