Hey! So yeah haven't done this in around 2 weeks or so but dont worry im not dead, just been busy! Lots had been going on, the main being that the other 2 guys that were out with me have now gone home. Pete left 2 weeks ago and Dave left yesturday. Wierd now being on my own, but good in a way. Shame though cos they were both cracking blokes and i know ill meet up with Dave especially once i get back. Also the young kids around rather then shouting 'abroni' (white man) at me are now shouting 'abroni Kaka' because of my shirt i wear at football training, is quite hilarious.
Anouther strange thing about the last 2 weeks is the Malaria tablets have caused me to have some rather strange vivid dreams! I wont go through them all but they're are some rather bizarre ones. When i get back if they involve you i will let you know any you were in. Is a bit wierd though so no getting funny with me if they seem very disturbed.
One of the funiest things ever also happened a couple of weeks ago on Wednesday when a man learning to drive in a big truck went and reversed into our toilet shack outside! Ripped the whole thing off its hinges so the next day loads of guys came to fix it. They weren't doing a very good job so the old man of the house, Mr. Botchway, went out and tried to start a fight with one of the guys! Was hilarious, he was so angry. Patrick eventually ran out and a few times fights nearly broke out but eventually they got it fixed and back on. Though i must confess i did use it as an excuse a few times to go to a nearbye hotel and use their nice western style toilets. Ha.
So yeah we've been off to a few places in the last few weeks. Been to the beach and to the hotel a few times like you'd expect but also been to this crazy craft place in Accra after going to Barclys, which was strangely just like being in a bank at home, doesn't fit in at all. They had loads of good stuff at this craft area though, some quality work, am going to bring a few things back with me! U'll find out what when i get back though. Also been to Kakum National Park and gone on the rope walk in the trees. Some beautiful views, unfortunately we didn't get to see hardly any animals as the animals are normally nocturnal which was a bit rubbish, just lazy animals if u ask me. Also found a shop called 'Marx Mart' which is just like a small sainsburys in the U.K, so go in there every now and again to get some jam, juice and a solero or two!
The coaching is going really well also, am much more confident now and coaching them with alot more quality sessions then when i started. They are all cracking lads so with the help of my Sven book on coaching that i found in my bag the other day we are having a great time. Me and Dave at one point took an attacking and a defending session which worked really well and has improved their games alot. The other day my little played a team who beat them the last time they played and this time they won 2-0, was really good. Although at one point their was a fight between the ref and the manager of our older lads which meant the game was abandoned for a while, was a bit bizzare really.
Final thing that needs to be mentioned is that ive somehow picked up 2 women who seem to be in love with me. One is down by the football pitch who the other day introduced me to her brother as her husband and then one down one of the internet cafe's who i got told wants to be my girlfriend, is quite funny.
Got 4 weeks left and am starting to realise how they are going to fly bye and then when i have to leave im really not going to want to, even though in a way i cant wait to be home, bit wierd. Anyway yeah ill be home before you know it so keep looking after yourselves and keep smiling.
See you soon,
