Sydney - The Final Month!
Well a day or so after I updated my last blog I had my birthday! This was one of the best weekends I have had since being in Australia.
I woke up on the Friday morning greeted with a card and a bottle of wine left by Paula as she had to go to work.I excitedly put the card with the rest that had accumulated (thanks Mum) and drank the bottle of wine! (Only Joking!) I didn't want to open the cards until everyone was there and because Chris and Paula were at work this meant I had to wait until the evening….noooooo!
Me and Vickie walked into Town but she also had to work but only for a couple of hours so I thought I would treat myself and get my hair cut and colored. The stylist colored it the blondest I have ever been; I think he thought I was some sort of Aussie surfer dude! Luckily I loved the hair and this put me in a good mood for the day ahead!
The evening soon came round and I could finally open my cards!! I want to say now thanks to everyone for sending cards out to me it meant a lot, for those who didn't I've fell out with you!! When I arrived in my room there was a big banner across the wall saying happy birthday which they had organized, I also saw a pack of 50 balloons on the side unopened….. At least the thought was there!!My favourite card I have to say was the one Chris and Vickie bought me. As you opened the card a voice starting singing "you're simply the best….better than all the rest"… I thought this card was very fitting for me….
After the excitement of opening the cards we had to get ready for a night out as Chris & Vic had booked a restaurant for us to go to.We went to a really nice Italian in Darling Harbour, had starters, main course and dessert. For dessert they organized a candle to be put in whichever cake I decided to go for. To there despair I had a craving for Apple Crumble and Ice-Cream so I ordered that, however, coincidently they had none left so I opted for a chocolate orange cake which was just as nice and did come out with a candle! Chris and Vic also insisted on paying for the meal which was really nice of them.
After the meal we headed to a place that I had been in before called the Lowenbrau. We were joined by a few other people we knew. I was just the sort of pub/nightclub we were looking for.The music was a mix between Hanson to the Spice Girls to Take That but it made the night all the more fun and we danced, drank and jagerbomed away till the early hours! Stupidly the night didn't end there. My work was just round the corner so I drunkidly thought it would be a good idea to go and see the guys down there. As soon as I just about sat down appeared these six shots that are called Bacardi 151 and the security guard who bought them me expected me to have them all.. No chance! I managed 2 before Chris helped out as did someone else!! A few shots later and that was the end of my night..zzzzzzzz..!!
Saturday was just as hectic but ill keep it to a minimum!!
Woke up and went to a café for breakfast, had our first beer there, after that headed to googee beach, stayed on the beach for 1 hour, went to the pub on beach front, stayed there drinking for 4 hours, back to our place to freshen up!, out again to the city to watch England play drank some more, got a taxi home about 3am, sleep until 10am, woke up, realized I had work at Midday, got ready and the Birthday was over!!!!!
I want to say thanks again to Chris and Vickie for making it such a special and memorable weekend, one that I, and I'm sure they, will never forget!!
The following weeks I was working lots as I knew I had not long left so wanted to cram as many hours in as possible.
Next up was Vickie's birthday on the 7th November. Vickie's Mum was here to see her then so she stayed with her Mum for a week or so. I wanted to make it special for her to so in the morning I woke them both up with a bottle of pink champagne. I also managed to 'borrow' 3 champagne glasses from work! We had a nice morning drinking bubbles whilst she opened her cards and pressies! At night me and Chris had organized for us all to go to this really nice restaurant. After that we went to a local bar and watched a live band that made a real fuss over Vic with it being her birthday which she loved!! It was a really good night and we all had fun.
After that more work, more days at beach, more drinking, more fun, however the time was nearly approaching to leave Sydney…..woooohoooo!! The next stop is a 4 day surf camp so I will update my blog after that to let you know how many sharks I have been eaten by!
I'm signing off for now anyway so will be in touch soon!!
