Hey everybody, where do I start!! This has been a long time coming (apologies for that!) so hope you enjoy, here goes.......!!
Since my last blog lot's has changed. I decided to go it alone and left the boys. No major drama I was just enjoying life and work in Sydney and they was ready to move on so we decided to go our seperate ways.
I moved out and went to a popular hostel in the centre of Sydney called the Wake up. I was a little anxious going there as I had never stayed in a hostel before so I was thinking that I would end up staying with 5 Germans who wouldn't talk to me but thankfully that wasn't the case. I was greeted by typical loaudmouth Mancunian called Baxter but he was really nice and introduced me to everyone else. There was an Irish guy and a welsh guy and girl who were all really friendly. That night I was invited to go with the guys to the Hostel bar ingeniously called the side bar where Baxter introduced me to some people he had already met. There was Chris from Burnley, Vicky from Bingley, Helen from Liverpool and Paula from Ireland. We all got chatting and it turned out that they all were going up the East Coast and to New Zealand and Fiji which is something I too will be doing so we all ramdonly decided that we would go together in November!! We then got chatting about accomodation as we was still going to be in Sydney for a while so needed somewhere cheaper and more suitable. The next day we all met and went hunting for accomodation. This was not easy as there was 8 of us looking for a place together! We ended up going to a place called Hombase Backpackers and satyed there for 5 weeks. We had 2 rooms, Chris, Baxter, Trev(the irish guy) and Ben (the welsh guy) had one room and I had the unfortunate task of sharing a room with the 3 girls (Vicky, Helen and Paula!!) The rooms were basic with 2 bunk beds and a couple of wardrobes but it was just what we needed really. There was a TV room with Foxtel (the equivelent of Sky Digital) and a communal kitchen. Whilst there the owners organised nights out for us where we would get free drinks etc or nights in sitting on the rooftop with a box of goon watching the sunset!!
After 4 weeks the group split. Baxter, Trev and Ben moved on to a different place, Helen had to leave and go back to the UK as she had problems with her Visa (however she will be back in November can't wait to see you Hels!!!!) so that just left me Chris Vicky and Paula. (I know this might be confusing you but you should try typing it!!!) With it just being the 4 of us it was much easier for us the find a place to live. We moved to a suburb called Gelebe on the 30th September which is just a 10 minute bus ride to the city. There are the 4 of us in one room but it's a decent size and has ensuite, T.V, computer with Internet access and a sink area. There is a rooftop terrace area for sitting out and eating and theres also BBQ's. We will be staying here for 6 weeks until we leave to go up the coast which will be around the 18th November.
This week we will be booking our flights etc for New Zealand and Fiji. I think that when we go to Fiji we will be staying in the same place as where the Celebrity Love Island was filmed which should be cool!! I think I am also going to whats called Surf Camp where you go to a different beach each day for 5 days and they teach you to surf. Surfings not something i'm overly keen on but whilst i'm in Oz I thought it needs to be given a go! When Christmas comes the girls want to be back in sydney for that and New Year but me and Chris are going to be staying up the East Coast, we will go back to the place we enjoyed the most and spend more time there over the festive period!
It's my Birthday on Friday and I have left it in the hands of Chris and Vicky so I hope they have something amazing planned for me or I won't be pleased!!
Work is still going really well, im still enjoying it. I've been going out with the guys from work alot more recenlty which is good fun but they are the craziest people I have ever met!
All in all i'm having such an amazing time and can't wait for the next part of my adventure!! I'm really sorry i've been lazy with my blog and will make sure I update it as soon as possible. Hope your all well back home, i'm sure I've missed loads out but there goes. I'm also in the middle of uploading pictures so please check them out too!!
Take care and i'll update again shortly!
