Hey everybody! I arrived in Sydney safe and well at around 9am Friday morning feeling really tired after no sleep whatsoever in over 24 hours! (I can never sleep on the plane!) Nick and Miller met me at the airport (yes they was late Craig!) then we got the train the Darlinghurst, which is where our apartment is. The apartment is good, us 3 have a room to ourselves and in the other room there is a Canadian lad and a French lad who both seem fine.
After unpacking my belongings we went for a walk to Darling Harbor, which was really nice and had a bite to eat. By this time though I could hardly keep me eyes open so went back to the apartment for an hours sleep as we planned to go out later that night. 4 hours later I wake up! We scrapped the idea of going 'to town' and just had a couple of beers at a local pub.
On Saturday we decided to go for a walk to the Sydney Harbor Bridge and Opera house. It was so strange seeing the Opera house in person and it doesn't look anything like it does on pictures!! The Bridge is amazing and you can climb the bridge from one side to the other, which takes about 3 hours, but this is something I am definitely going to do.
Having walked for the best part of 4 hours we arrived back at the apartment and decided what the plan was for tonight.... get p!$$ed!! So me and nick went to the Bottle Shop (off license) and got a 5 litre box of goon! This I thought would be ok as on the box it said it was white wine which I don't mind, but just as I was taking my first gulp back at the apartment Nick kindly told me some of the ingredients to this. They included Fish Guts...... However after that bombshell I discovered an easier way to drink this, open your mouth and neck it! An hour later and we somehow ready to hit the Town, I didn't even straighten my hair, as I was a little tipsy by then! In the end though had a really good night, didn't get in the apartment till 6;30am!!
On Sunday we just relaxed in the apartment needless to say not feeling the best!! On Monday Nick and Miller was working for the first time since I got here, so I decided to go for a walk and find my bearings a little more!
There's still lots I want to do whilst in Sydney, as I've said I want to climb across the Harbor Bridge, I have also picked up a little on something else that caught my eye.... Skydive! Now weather I will end up doing this or not you will have to watch this space but Nick and Miller have done it in another part of Oz and they said it was amazing and is a must! Besides it's only 14,000 feet!!!
We will be staying in Sydney for about the next 6 weeks so Nick and Miller can get as much money saved as possible for when we hit the road, so I am going to start looking for a job in a few days because I think I would get a little bored a skint after 6 weeks!
I have taken some photos and will upload then when I have some more.
Anyway I'm going to leave it at that for now, but thanks for all your messages, Nicole I can't believe how you have learnt how to type so soon, but glad you are getting better now x
Hope everyone is ok and will speak to you soon.
