Ben and Marie's American Road Trip
After waking up, we got our free breakfast and got ready to leave, we were heading down the coast to Philadelphia. We were hoping to get to the Rocky Statue at the Art Museum and so we set off for our short drive at around 11:30. By the time we had reached Philadelphia, we found out about the NFL draft and that it was going on during our stay, which severely limited access to the museum, however we were told we could still get to the statue. We went into Philadelphia and quickly found out that parking was, again, ridiculously expensive. However, I was busting for a wee, 3 cups of tea that morning had killed me. But there was nothing else for it, turned into a car park and after staying for around an hour, we found out we had to pay £20 for it. Nightmare. Plus I'm pretty sure Marie will never let me live it down. We returned to the car and set off for our KOA camp about an hour away, which took a lot longer due to traffic. We picked up a Pizza Hut on the way there for dinner, including triple cookie brownie for Marie. When we arrived at camp it had been tipping it down for hours now. We went to pay for our tent site and the guy offered us a free cabin upgrade, what a bonus, didn't need to set the tent up in pouring rain!! The cabin was great, double bed and heating, can't complain. We made our bed and I caught up on my reading while it was reading, one book down. All ready for the zoo tomorrow.
