So I'm currently sitting in a pub called The Brazen Head.. it's, oh... just a little over 800 years old. EIGHT HUNDRED!! Despite the dreary weather, I'm really enjoying Dublin. I came to the pub after spending a couple hours at Mecca.. otherwise known as the Guinness Storehouse. Guinness here certainly does taste better, for any number of reasons. You can feel the history sitting in the famous pubs here, where millions of pints of the black gold have been consumed for years.
Thankfully the day has improved after the group of Germans got back to our room at 5AM after being out drinking all night.. I love 5AM conversations and laughing sessions! Hooray! The Ryan Air flight yesterday was also hilarious.. if you've never flown with them, I kind of suggest it.. in the way that I suggest taking the China Town bus once in your life. They try to nail fees on everywhere they possibly can, and they are literally trying to sell things the entire flight.. liquor, makeup, lotto tickets.. not much sleeping going on. Was also sitting next to two guys that work for New Belgium Brewing Co. in Colorado.. I've ended up next to so many 'beer people' on this trip.. figures!
The rest of the day (seems the sun is trying to come out!) will hopefully hold one or two of the other famous pubs, and trying to find some Irish session music tonight. Fingers crossed!
P.S. I am so full!!! The food is sooo filling (just had a traditional Irish stew with bread), and the Guinness certainly isn't light either! That's the good news I suppose.. I can't get too drunk cause I get too full first ;)
