Havent written in a week or so but weve been up to a lot!
We started out in Georgetown, Penang and spent a couple of nights there just checkin out the scene and the culture a but. Visited a snake temple which wasn'ty mu ch cop to be honest. A few snakes on the picstures but got to see some cobras and some huge pythons. SNAKEY SNAKE.
After that we visited a temple called Kek Lok Si which was very nice and made the ACE decision to walk back into georgetown which took us hours in the beating sun.
We got a trishaw ride around the city one evening but the guy who rode us around had to get off and push in the end as he was fighitng heavy wind and terrential rain. So while he was doing that me and andy were inside poking our eyes out of the only bit that wasnt covered in plastic to keep us dry. Pretty funny. When we got off we hit a bar for a beer and the same guy rolled in and had a few dirnks with us, he ended up basically having the best day of his life and kissed me on the face which was mega, mega sketchy.

After penang we got a bus down to a national park called Taman Negara. This is the oldest jungle in the world as it wasnt affected by the ice age and is bigger than luxembourg.
Here we stayed in a tiny village on the river and literally 2 hours after we arrived, a dutch couple who got the bus down with us knocked on our door and ofered for us to join them in a three day 2 night trek through the rainforest. We were pumped for it so we packed a rucksack and set off the next day, not REALLY knowing what to expect and totally unprepared.
Turned out to be one of the best things either of us has ever done, we ended up sleeping in a cave with porcupines, washing in the river, wading through rivers fully clothed and swinging across them on vines, picking leeches out of our shoes everyday and generally getting very very sweaty and even more dirty. Clothes still havent washed all the mud out yet.
After this we were totally shattered so we chilled for a bit when we arrived back, ate some food (which is bloody hard to get there since people look at you really funny if you want to eat before 7) and went to bed at about 8.30 like good boys.
Next day we got a bus to the cameron highlands, the centre of alll major tea production in malaysia. It was a beatiful place very hilly and temperature never goes above 21 degrees so was nice and cool. WE stayed in a wicked guesthouse that was cheap and really chilled, met a few people and drank loads of tea and watched films for two days.
And now were in Kuala Lumpur! We arrived yesterday and went out with some Irish, English and germans we met here. Andy and I planned to stay up til 8.30 am to visit the petronas towers but we couldnt hack it so we slept til 3 today instead and went up the menara tower, a huge telecommunications tower viewpoint where we got amazing views of the whole city.
Probably going to take it easy tonight, have a shave cos were very hairy, eat a mela with everyone and then shoot to petronas towers early in the morning and maybe move on to singapore since we are planning on flying to Bali or somewhere for a couple of weeks.
