After getting up 5AM(!!!) we were driven to bolder valley only to be told that the trip was cancelled to due to high winds! :-(

Disappointed to we took ourselves off to the car rental place where we picked up our SUV (see photos!)

We then drove out of Vegas to Death Valley. The scenery quickly changed from over the top sky scrapers to baron dessert. Interestingly we got to see the full effect of the wind storm that cancelled our Canyon trip at ground level, having to drive through numerous sand storms we arrived a couple of hours later at Stovepipe Wells.

We had a blast (quite literally!) at the pool and then went off for the saloon for food (cactus chicken and ranch burger). A magerita and a pint of local ale later we were shattered and off to bed for another early one.
