This morning we woke up slowly and dragged ourselves back past the lakes and into rotorua to find a place to get a good shower and a soak in a hot spring! A stop in mcdonalds to make us all feel disgusting and find a place to go was needed so after being fed and sorting a place to go we headed off to a hot water pool and campground - when we got there we found out for $5 more we could camp and use all the pool facilities. We quickly set up the car and changed and jumped straight in (well didn't jump as your not aloud to but you get the picture).
There were 6 pools varying in size and temperature, a quick swim in the warm one we then made our way to the hot one, which felt like a really hot bath, we then went to one of the smaller pools which we had to ourselves - this felt really remote as you sat on a sort of infinity pool looking over the boiling river and out over the countryside! All for a similar price for a dip in totnes pool! Only now realising we needed a few bits for dinner we re packed the car and headed back to the nearest shops and grabbed some shopping. After another soak in the pools - this time looking even more mystical with the steam lot up by floodlights - we made some food and had a sit down meal in the campsite kitchen. We also decided that this would be a good time to crack open the vodka and have a few drinks. After our food and drinks we settled down and got some sleep.
